Milliken has partnered with Product and Industrial Designer Ben Wilson to create an intriguing exhibition, which fuses the concepts of Camouflage, Carpet and Custom Furniture. Carpetfixation is the last in the Chairfix series and has been developed exclusively for Milliken. Ben has developed four new pieces for the range including a bookcase, coffee table, lightstand & seating. A unique camouflage design was applied to the Parchment colour from Millikens new Colour Express premium cut pile fusion bonded modular carpet range. The camouflage effect has been designed in collaboration with U-R-ILL™ using abstract Chairfix images. The exhibition celebrates Millikens fixation with good design in carpet. It illustrates what can be achieved in the extreme with its newly launched Colour Express range and demonstrates the flexibility of its Millitron© Imaging design process.

Chairfix a flat packed, self-assembly furniture system designed by Ben Wilson that can be customised to suit the user. 3 chairs are routed out of one sheet of 8x4 15mm Birch faced ply-wood or MDF. 126 flat pack units will fit on a standard euro pallet. The excess wood is its own packaging. Chairfix was inspired by Airfix model kits and is easily assembled by the consumer using a mallet. No glues screws or fixings are needed.
To launch the project 10 designers from different areas were asked to customise the chairs, these ranged from graffiti to wool and were used for the exhibition launch at Aram. CHAIRFIX @ 110 ARAM STORE, Drury Lane, London WC2B 5SG
